Yoga, meditation, service, and community are some of the most effective tools that bring the empowerment needed to transform a traumatic experience. Wisdom rarely emerges in spite of difficulty, but rather because of it … and when integrated with yoga, that wisdom is more deeply understood.

Learn the ways that yoga has successfully saved lives — how it has transformed the experiences of human trafficking survivors, veterans, prisoners, and others who have undergone immense trauma. Get inspired by the stories of those who have survived life’s greatest challenges … and how they went on to become change-makers in society.

A licensed psychotherapist, Suzi is co-founder of Big Heart Ranch, where rescue animals and humans support one another’s healing through connection, and was the first Clinical Director of Alo House Recovery Centers. She has also hosted her own radio and television shows, frequently appeared on Oprah, and has published two books.

It’s your time to transmit ancient ancient yogic healing practices that cutting-edge research is now confirming — that yoga and meditation regulate the nervous system, releases tension and trauma from the body and mind, supports wellness practices that improve self care, and increases emotional insight about ourselves and how we connect to others.

Directly experience the healing potential within these practices and the “why” behind them, to better integrate them into all aspects of your life. This experiential and educational certificate course is intended for anyone interested in learning more about post-traumatic growth.

Course topics include:

  • Safe and nurturing evidence-based methodologies that support the body in healing

  • Healing practices in breath, visualization, sound and movement

Share the practice of deep relaxation to help with everyday challenges.

Yoga Nidra is a guided form of meditation that is easy to learn, practice, and share with other people. This training course is designed to give you the experiential, philosophical, theoretical, and spiritual understanding of Yoga Nidra that you can use for your own personal healing practice or with clients and students.

Discover how to experience peace and equanimity amidst all of life’s unique challenges. In this training, you will:

  • Learn how to lead Yoga Nidra guided meditation practices
  • Experience how the koshas (Sanskrit for ‘veils’ or ‘layers of consciousness’) create the structure of a Yoga Nidra practice
  • Discover how Yoga Nidra can be a pathway to explore both what is present in your body and mind, as well as deep states of meditation
  • Experience how you can use the practice of Yoga Nidra to work with challenging emotions and beliefs
  • Explore the spiritual and philosophical roots of Yoga Nidra
  • Learn what the clinical research reveals about how Yoga Nidra, mindfulness, and meditation practices affect the body and mind
